BA TechWorks is a joint venture between BMW China and ArcherMind. Each party holds a 50% stake in the company, which was registered and put into operation in Nanjing on April 1, 2021. BA TechWorks is the fourth R&D center established by the BMW Group in China, following Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenyang.
In just over two years, BA TechWorks has grown from scratch to a research and development team of over 450 people, accounting for over 90% of the employees. It has become BMW's largest digital automotive software R&D center in China and even in Asia. The scope of research and development has expanded from the initial in-car intelligent infotainment system and mobile applications to areas such as autonomous driving systems, mapping and navigation, intelligent voice interaction, in-car operating systems, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing. On the one hand, it adheres to the "in China for China" strategy, helping BMW better create digital products with local characteristics and personalization for Chinese users. On the other hand, it has already implemented the "in China for Global" strategy in advance, developing digital automotive technologies for the global BMW series (BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce) in Nanjing.
BA TechWorks has a complete technical development system and emphasizes innovation, flat management, transparent decision-making, and work-life balance. It not only respects every employee but also focuses on each employee's growth. BA TechWorks is dedicated to research and development and employee development, while also maintaining strict software quality assurance and data security standards. This enables its products to gain user support and praise, establishing the foundation for BA TechWorks sustainable operation.
